Event Description

Educators from schools and nature centers are invited to apply for a free groundwater sand tank model and workshop.  This is a great hands-on tool that shows how groundwater moves. The materials that come with the models are geared toward grades 6-12.  Twenty models will be given away at two workshops located around the state.  The workshops will be taught by staff from the Central Wisconsin Groundwater Center and the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey.

Workshops will be held January 29 in Tomahawk and February 19 in Mount Horeb. Educators need only attend one.

Money is available to reimburse schools for substitute teachers.

To be eligible to receive a model, two teachers from a school or nature center must complete the application form describing how they will use the model. The announcement and application can be found on the DNR and CWGC websites.

The deadline for applications is November 1, 2019.
