What is ESEA Monitoring

DPI has oversight and monitoring responsibilities to ensure compliance with the ESEA grant program. DPI takes a three-pronged approach to monitoring, which combined makes up ESEA Consolidated Monitoring. Please refer to the 2024-25 ESEA Consolidated Monitoring Guidance Document for more details.

Comprehensive, Targeted, Universal Monitoring Triangle

DPI recommends LEAs form a team (or utilize an existing leadership team) to gather documents, discuss answers to the guiding questions, and assess their compliance with ESEA law. DPI encourages LEAs to perform a self assessment annually, whether they are selected for monitoring or not.

DPI created an ESEA Consolidated Monitoring Google Site for LEAs not being monitored in 2024-25 and includes folders and a checklist for all Comprehensive, Targeted and Universal Monitoring requirements contained in the 2024-25 ESEA Consolidated Monitoring Guidance Document LEAs are encouraged to use the Google Site as a tool to help their teams perform a self assessment in 2024-25.
