ESEA Consolidated Application

Overview

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 provides financial support for schools and other educational organizations through both formula allocations and competitive grants. This web page provides information regarding the formula-driven grants available in Wisconsin. (information on competitive grants)

All local education agencies (LEAs) are to submit a single, consolidated application for all ESEA formula entitlements, including the following titles:

Title I, Part A - Improving Basic Programs
Title I, Part C - Migrant
Title I, Part D - Neglected and Delinquent
Title II, Part A - Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting
Title III, Part A, Subpart 1 - English Language Acquisition and Language Enhancement

The consolidated application is a web-based application. Important dates and deadlines to note are as follows:

Claiming Funds and Submitting Budget Revisions

ESEA funds are paid to sub-recipients through a reimbursement process.  Claims for funds are submitted online through the ESEA web-based application.  DPI encourages sub-recipients to submit claims on a quarterly basis.

Budget revisions should be approved by DPI before obligations are made.

Repayment of Claimed Funds

Consolidated End-of-Year Reporting

    As a condition of receiving funding under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act from the U.S. Department of Education, the state must report annually information under Title I, Part A; Title II, Part A; and Title III, Part A. To comply with this requirement, we annually ask you to submit information related to the above programs through an End-of-Year Report.

    The End-of-Year Report is tentatively due the last business day of August.  For the 2016-17 End-of-Year Report in WISEgrants, this deadline will be later in 2017. Deadline updates and End-of-Year Report availability will be sent to District Administrators and available in the WISEgrants Message Board.
