Public High School Diploma


To obtain information regarding a student who has earned a public high school diploma, please contact the high school or school district. Contact information for public schools and school districts can be found in The Wisconsin School Directory.

 


GED Option #2


To obtain information regarding a student who has earned a public high school diploma including GED Option #2, please contact the high school or school district. Contact information for public schools and school districts can be found in The Wisconsin School Directory.

 


Private High School Diploma

 

To obtain information regarding a student who has earned a private high school diploma, please contact the private school directly. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction does not have student information for private schools that are closed. The school district in which the private school operated in may have some information to help with closed school student records. Contact information for private schools and school districts can be found in The Wisconsin School Directory.

Obtaining GED/HSED Transcripts and Credentials

This service is for individuals who have earned their Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or your High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) in Wisconsin. If you have earned a regular high school diploma including GED Option #2, you must contact the school district for copies of diplomas and transcripts.

 

Before making the request, the following information will be required:

  • Name at the time of GED testing or name as it appears on your credential. If unsure what name is on your credential, please list all previous names used.
  • Date-of-birth
  • Last four digits of your social security number
  • Your telephone number, with area code
  • Email address

 Cost for GED/HSED Transcripts and Diplomas

Credential (Transcripts and Diplomas) Request Cost

The cost for the first copy of a credential (diploma and or transcript) is $15.

If currently incarcerated, there is a reduced price of $5 per first copy of credential.

All additional copies of credentials are $2 after the first copy.

GED/HSED ePay is a secure online form that can be completed by the following link below. You will need a valid email address and digital payment to complete the request. You will be notified via email once the request has been reviewed and approved.

Please review the infromation below prior to starting an online request

  • Your request will be processed in the sequence received and will take approximately 2-6 weeks to complete.
  • For diplomas and transcripts sent electronically, we use secure email messaging system Kiteworks. Recipients will have 30 days to download the documents. After 30 days, documents will expire and a new request will be required.
  • If sending to employer, college/university, background checker, and anyone other than you, make sure they accept credentials recieved from Kiteworks or secure email systems. They will be required to setup an account using the email it was sent to inorder to view and download the electronic diplomas and transcripts. 
  • Once the document is sent, it cannot be forwarded or resent.
  • Your request will be processed in the order it is received and will take about 2-6 weeks to complete.
  • For diplomas and transcripts sent electronically, we use a secure email system called Kiteworks. Recipients will have 30 days to download the documents. After 30 days, the documents will expire, and you will need to submit a new request.
  • If you are sending the documents to an employer, college/university, background checker, or anyone other than yourself, ensure they accept credentials from Kiteworks or other secure email systems. They will need to set up an account using the email it was sent to in order to view and download the electronic diplomas and transcripts.
  • Once the document is sent, it cannot be forwarded or resent.

Pay by Money Order



PI-8203 Order Form can be downloaded and filled out using your web browser or our preferred application Adobe Reader, which is free to download.

NOTICE: As of October 30, 2022, we will no longer accept personal checks. Orders postmarked before this date will be fulfilled.

Before making the request, the following information will be required:

  • Name at the time of GED testing or name as it appears on your credential. If unsure what name is on your credential, please list all previous names used.
  • Date-of-birth

Your signature (transcripts cannot be released without a signed request) Include a money order for the total amount of your fees. There is a $15.00 fee for each document (credential or transcript) you request. If additional copies of these documents are requested  in the same order, they will be issued at a charge of $2.00 each.
 
  • Do not send cash through the mail.
  • Your order will be processed in the sequence received and will take approximately 6-8 weeks to complete.

Based on the information provided, it has been determined that you are not authorized to submit a request for credentials.
