Our Journey Toward AI Guidance

Wisconsin’s approach to AI integration has been intentional, inclusive, and iterative. Our journey began with a core group of content area experts creating a guidance document. For the second iteration, we spent more time listening—gathering input from educators, library professionals, students, families, and technology leaders across the state. Through working groups, convenings, and feedback, we identified priorities such as student data privacy, academic integrity, AI literacy, and equitable access.

We then partnered with national organizations and Wisconsin-based experts to create guidance grounded in research, aligned with our state’s digital learning goals, and tailored to local context. This guidance is a living, evolving resource designed to grow alongside the needs and realities of our schools, libraries, and communities.
