Connect with Virtual Networking Meetings

Friday, November 5, 2021

Beginning with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Virtual Networking Meetings for School Librarians were initiated as a means for sharing information, asking questions, and connecting with other professionals in the field. Over the past year, meetings have expanded to include special guests speaking on topics related to school libraries. In 2021-22, meetings continue to evolve based on the needs of the field. The meetings allow for meaningful discussions to occur between school librarians and the DPI without participants experiencing barriers of cost or geography.

This fall, meetings are typically held every other week on Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by 15 minutes for individual questions. In the coming weeks, special guest speakers will include David O’Connor, the DPI American Indian Studies Consultant, and Megan Schliesman, a librarian from the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC).

For additional information and a Microsoft Teams link to the meetings, please review the Virtual Networking for School Librarians 2021-22 (Fall) document. To stay current on future meeting information, please reference the WI DPI School Libraries Google Currents community. If you are not already a member, email Monica Treptow (monica.treptow@dpi.wi.gov) for a link to join.
