The start of school always feels like a fresh start filled with excitement and opportunity. Often, I feel more energized for new beginnings this week than I do on January 1st. I sincerely hope you are also refreshed and ready to continue the amazing work of providing library services to the students of Wisconsin! Being mindful of how busy this time of year is while also knowing how important it is to be informed, here is a quick list of things to set your year off in a positive direction:

Finding ways to grow professionally and build your professional community are an important aspect of staying positive throughout the school year. Organizations, such as WEMTA, AASL, and ISTE have a wide variety of opportunities available. Also, check with your CESA for regional library network meetings, as well as an opportunity to participate in a book study for the new AASL book, Elevating the School Library.
If you have questions about these items or have any other school library things on your mind, please connect with me via email or phone. My priority is supporting you all in the process of building the best library programs possible for our Wisconsin students and schools. Wishing you all the best for 2024-25!
