WEMTA Conference - ReconnectED #WEMTA22

Friday, February 11, 2022

Let’s Get Reconnected is the theme for the upcoming Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association Conference taking place from March 6 through March 8, 2022, at the Kalahari Convention Center. This conference has both in-person and concurrent virtual options for attendance.

ReconnectED offers great opportunities for a wide variety of educators and administrators. The conference will be packed with 9 concurrent sessions offering multiple presentations and workshop choices, two keynote addresses, a vendor exhibition, and a Trivia Night for evening entertainment. Knowing and understanding the current challenges surrounding missing an instructional day for professional development, the WEMTA Conference committee has planned a great selection of workshops and sessions for Sunday. On Monday, the WEMTA award winners will be celebrated, and the featured keynote speaker is Dr. Joe Sanfelippo, a motivating Wisconsin superintendent focused on being intentional, opening doors, and building people up. On Tuesday, the annual Common School Fund presentation will precede the keynote speaker, author Candace Fleming, who has written more than forty books for children and young adults. In addition, local author Dean Robbins will be signing and giving away copies of his latest book at the Follett booth, and Jon Spike, the Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Integration at UW Whitewater, will be the spotlight speaker.

ReconnectED will be filled with opportunities to grow as a professional if you are a library media specialist, technology integrator, or classroom educator. If you are an administrator, it is an exciting environment to learn more about how library programming and effective use of technology can increase student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
