Lifetime License Invalidation Process Changes

On 12/31/2019, educators who did not complete the requirement to submit a background check this year had their Life or Lifetime licenses invalidated. DPI’s interpretation of statute was a requirement to apply for a provisional license as the only path to regain their lifetime license.

However, after reviewing statute and rule further, it was determined that DPI could allow a more direct path to revalidating a Life or Lifetime license. If you currently have an invalidated Life or Lifetime license, you can now access the application for a new Lifetime license. By completing this application, which includes submitting the required background check, you will receive a new valid Lifetime license.
