Access Free Coaching, Professional Learning, and Technical Assistance for ELA and Mathematics

Tuesday, November 24, 2020

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) and the Council of Chief State School Officers, will use grant funding to provide free coaching, professional learning, and technical assistance to school districts.

This funding will allow the DPI to work with the Achievement Network, Instruction Partners, and Teaching Lab, to provide support in the following areas:

Achievement Network

A coach from Achievement Network will work with districts to offer implementation support for their Academic Recovery Plan. The coach will support district leaders to:

  • Refine goals and metrics around effective remote instruction and develop robust two-way communication structures,

  • Collect data and reflect on their progress towards goals, and

  • Adjust strategy and engage in learning about best practices to support effective virtual or hybrid learning.

This includes addressing student engagement, assessment, and/or culturally responsive instruction depending on a district’s needs. Limited spots are available.

Instruction Partners

Participate in a cohort facilitated by Instruction Partners with colleagues from other districts to receive support in grade-level ELA and math content in face-to-face, remote, or hybrid learning environments. Learn about progress monitoring on instructional and operational plans to assist district implementation and improvement in student engagement, assessment, and social-emotional learning. Limited spots are available.

Teaching Lab Webinar Series

Attend any of the webinars on the following topics:

  • Providing grade-level ELA and math content in face-to-face or remote or hybrid learning environments knowing students have learning loss from last year
