Deadline Approaching: Get Broadband Access in Your Community

Tuesday, January 3, 2023

The Federal Communications Commission recently launched its first version of the National Broadband Map for public input. This new map will be used to determine Wisconsin’s allocation of federal Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding. An accurate map will help identify the communities most in need of funding for high-speed internet projects.

DPI encourages families to review the map for accuracy and to submit challenges if corrections are needed. Challenges that are submitted by January 13, 2023 will be incorporated into the map before federal funding allocations are made.

To take action:

  • Visit broadbandmap.gov
  • Type an address in the "Search by Address" bar
  • Review the list of providers
  • If the information is not correct, select "Availability Challenge"
  • Select the provider you wish to challenge
  • Complete the form and submit
