Nation Comes Together to Honor Class of 2020

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

The world was watching as students, educators, celebrities, advocates, and many more came together to honor the class of 2020 during an hour-long program on Saturday, May 16.

The “Graduate Together 2020” program aired on all major cable networks and online. The virtual ceremony gave high school seniors across the nation a chance to speak out as to how they are feeling during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also provided an outlet for the rest of the nation to wish them congratulations on achieving such a great milestone in their lives.

Aside from the many musical performances and speakers on the program, such as former President Barack Obama, NBA star LeBron James, and The Jonas Brothers, students across the nation were encouraged to check out a personalized message from their state.

State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor sent out a congratulatory message to Wisconsin’s class of 2020, thanking them for their dedication and resiliency throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Stanford Taylor’s video message is below.
