Play Make Learn Conference

Monday, July 23, 2018

The Department of Public Instruction is one of several sponsors proud to support the Play Make Learn Conference on August 13-14. The conference will be held at Union South on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The purpose of the conference is to promote play and learning research, industry, and practice, with spotlights on game design and learning, making in high school, tech school and library spaces, and personalized learning.

Highlights for this year’s Play Make Learn Conference include new games and game systems, maker labs, and myriad presentations and discussions.

Keynote speakers are Dr. Emery Petchauer, Associate Professor in the Departments of English and Teacher Education at Michigan State University, and Jane Werner, Executive Director of The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. They will kick off each day of the conference with specific play make learn examples and what they can teach us about these important spaces and opportunities.
