For educators, time is precious. We know how important it is to keep up with professional reading, but with the wide array of professional journals and publications, deciding where to start can be daunting. That is why the English Language Arts Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has put together a place for English/language arts educators to quickly sift through titles of scholarly articles and professional books on current topics.
“Read It or Leave It” is space for educators to get a broad overview about what researchers and authors are sharing related to research, instructional resources, topics, and concepts in the field. It is an easy to use, searchable page on the Department of Public Instruction website that provides an annotated bibliography of book and article titles. If a title sounds enticing, educators can dig deeper with the information provided. All articles listed are freely available to Wisconsin educators through Badgerlink. Books listed can be accessed through libraries or interlibrary loan, some CESA libraries, or friends willing to share.
Read It or Leave It continues to grow with new titles added each month. If you have a book or article you would like to see added, contact Marci Glaus, English Language Arts Consultant at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope you enjoy!
