The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation is looking for educators, parents, and community members to read and evaluate applications for our 2026 Wisconsin teacher. Reader scores determine award finalists and ultimately, award recipients.
Teacher and principal award recipients will receive $6,000 personal grants and matching $6,000 grants for their schools.

Readers who participate gain greater appreciation and inspiration from the selection process. A few items to note:
- Anyone can be a reader! Teachers, administrators, school board members, retired educators, parents, community members, and business professionals are all welcome to sign up to review applications and be part of the selection process.
- Scoring can be done whenever, wherever! You will need access to a computer and the internet. No printing or additional materials are required. Scoring takes approximately 20-30 minutes per application. Prior to scoring applications, you must complete brief online training. During the process, additional guidance and support are available to scorers.
- Readers must complete the online scoring within the designated time frame. Applications will be available for scoring through March 2, 2026.
