School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is February 8-12, 2021. The importance of school bus drivers has been emphasized more than ever this year, as many pivoted duties from safely transporting students to and from schools, to delivering meals and materials during the pandemic. Whether on their usual routes or doing more than asked, this week is a great opportunity to say thank you to school bus drivers across the state.
According to a press release from the Wisconsin School Bus Association, “In Wisconsin, there are over 15,000 school buses that safely transport more than 600,000 students to and from school each school day and travel nearly 70 million miles a year. This commemorative week recognizes all school transportation personnel who are involved in the highest standards of safe practices to assure the protection of their passengers, our state’s most precious cargo.”
