School Health Award Winners

Tuesday, June 8, 2021

Children’s Wisconsin, the Department of Public Instruction, and Kohls want to take a moment to reflect on this school year with gratitude to educators and all who provide support to schools across the state. In a new video, the Children’s Wisconsin Mission Healthy Kids program award winners are celebrated, along with educators and health workers across the state.

President and CEO of Children’s Wisconsin Peggy Troy thanks everyone who has worked so diligently to serve children this year. “As educators, your work on behalf of kids has been heroic,” said Troy.

Assistant State Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction Barb Van Haren also shared a message of gratitude, “Your students will remember you, and how you navigated this year together.” The video lists the 2021 spring Mission: Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools Challenge award-winning schools.

For this year only, the Healthy Schools Challenge replaced the DPI Wisconsin School Health Awards. However, the Wisconsin School Health Award winners from the 2019-20 school year are also being celebrated this year.

The flexibility and perseverance educators and health care workers have shown, and the heart in caring for Wisconsin’s kids during this unprecedented time will forever be remembered. On behalf of Children’s Wisconsin, the Department of Public Instruction, and Kohl’s, thank you for a job well done. Happy summer!
