The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Professional Learning and Community Education (PLACE) organization is hosting a number of programs this summer, and educators are encouraged to register to attend.

Foundations of Student-Centered Coaching

Dates: June 19-July 30, 2022
Where: Online, primarily asynchronous

Want to sharpen your skills to use student evidence to inform instruction?

Foundations of Student-Centered Coaching will help you learn how to build collaborative partnerships focused on setting standards-based goals grounded in student evidence to improve student outcomes.

The Sandra Alpert Nathan Summer Literacy Institute

Dates: June 27-29, 2022
Where: Fluno Center, UW–Madison

This two-day conference will guide educators in selecting and making texts accessible for readers below grade level. Participants will learn specific instructional strategies for fostering the development of Theory of Mind (ToM) through reading and writing instruction. Subsidized accommodations and meals are provided thanks to generous support from the Sandra Alpert Nathan family.

Leading a Liberated District for Transformative Change

Dates: July 13–15
Where: Pyle Center, UW-Madison

This innovative institute creates a superintendent community of practice centered around research-based approaches that support school district leaders and schools to embrace and implement equity-centered leadership.
