Spreading Thanks During Teacher Appreciation Week

Tuesday, April 26, 2022

Make sure to spread your messages of thanks and appreciation for all of the teachers in your lives. Next week (May 2-6, 2022) has been proclaimed Teacher Appreciation Week in Wisconsin. Check out State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly’s official proclamation for the week by visiting the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s website here.

Teachers have lasting impacts on the lives of youth as they learn, process information, become critical thinkers, gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in college and careers, and grow as humans. Teachers have truly been at the heart of it all, and especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. From reinventing teaching practices to reach and engage with students virtually, to reconnecting with students as they returned to classrooms and in-person instruction, teachers are dedicated to not only their profession, but also their students. They are essential to the success of our youth and help instill a lifelong love of learning. Each day, they inspire students and the community around them.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction thanks teachers for the work they do each day – even after the bell rings – and encourages Wisconsinites to take a moment to spread messages of thanks for the teachers in their lives.

Thank you, teachers, for all that you do.
