The State Superintendent Welcomes Educators to a New School Year

Tuesday, September 1, 2020

In a new video, State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor shares a welcoming message to all educators as the 2020-21 school year gets underway. She applauds educators and school staff for the varied efforts required to make sure students get what they need when they need it. In her 41st year in education, she shares the same excitement each new school year brings while recognizing anxieties about this year. “The pandemic has reminded us of the important role educators play in the lives of students,” Stanford Taylor said.

Stanford Taylor acknowledges the need to reframe current challenges into new and different opportunities to provide a quality education while building meaningful relationships with students.

As educators help students adjust to the new school year, Stanford Taylor thanks educators for their consistent support. “For those of you who have been working in schools, thank you for your ongoing commitment to students. For those of you who are new to the profession, I welcome you to what I hope will be a wonderful career choice.”
