'Take Off with School Breakfast' During School Breakfast Week

Tuesday, March 8, 2022
This week (March 7-11, 2022) is National School Breakfast week, a time to highlight the impact the School Breakfast Program has on students and the vital role the program has in ensuring students have access to a nutritious meal to start the day.

This year’s theme is "Take Off with School Breakfast," a fun way for school districts to promote their super-powered school breakfast program to students, parents and stakeholders. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service, more than 8.1 million children across the United States start their day with the School Breakfast Program. School breakfast is healthy, convenient, and helps students do well in school. Research shows that eating breakfast leads to improved academic performance, focus and behavior, higher scores on standardized tests, reduced rates of nurse visits and more!
