DPI Media Line, (608) 266-3559MADISON — State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor issued a statement today on Gov. Tony Evers signing the 2019-21 biennial budget.
"Our children’s education is critical to their success in life. That is why I advanced an equity budget laying out the investments necessary to meet the needs of students across the state.
“Parents, teachers, administrators, and school board members were clear about prioritizing special education, mental health, afterschool programming, and school nutrition. Gov. Evers recognized this in his own proposal when he brought education to the forefront of the budget discussion, and in the use of his partial veto authority to increase the resources available to school districts.
“We appreciate the work of the governor and the Legislature, and we will continue to advocate for what we believe students need."
