MADISON — The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction will conduct a hearing to accept public testimony on proposed permanent rules related to changes to Chapter PI 34 as a result of 2019 Wisconsin Act 44.

The proposed rule seeks to make changes to PI 34 to conform the rule to changes in Act 44, including rules covering what constitutes satisfactory completion of a course of study that a special education teacher may complete as an alternative to the Foundations of Reading Test.

Those using the building’s Butler Street handicapped accessible entrance should press a doorbell for admittance and check in with security. Written comments received no later than Feb. 24 will be given the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearing.

A copy of the proposed rules is available on the department's Administrative Rules webpage or the Wisconsin Legislature Rules site.
