As National School Breakfast Week (March 4-8, 2019) draws near, we want to encourage you to do a few things to promote your School Breakfast Program even before it gets here! We all know that breakfast is an integral part of every child’s day and that hungry children find it difficult to concentrate and learn.
What can you do to help promote the School Breakfast Program in your school or district?
Ensure families are aware that your school/district offers a School Breakfast Program by doing outreach through regular communication channels and making sure USDA Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications are available.
Consider participating in the Department of Public Instruction School Nutrition Team sponsored School Breakfast Challenge.
Visit the School Nutrition Association’s National School Breakfast Week webpage for ideas and start planning something special today!
