New! Team Nutrition Meal Components Web Quiz

USDA’s Team Nutrition initiative is excited to announce the release of the Meal Components Web Quiz. This quiz focuses on meal components and meal pattern requirements for all child nutrition programs. It is the latest addition to the collection of Team Nutrition Web Quizzes that cover a variety of nutrition topics. Additional quizzes will be released throughout Fall and Winter of the 2021-22 school year.
 
As a reminder, these interactive quizzes can be used by staff at trainings and other nutrition events as a fun and engaging learning activity. Upon completion of each 10-question quiz, quiz takers receive a score along with a link to resources that can help expand their knowledge on the topic and build their nutrition skills. Quiz takers can also view a printable version of the questions and answers upon quiz completion.

FY 2021 USDA NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant (EAG)

Final reminder! The FY 2021 EAG application is available and due by 11:59 PM CST December 17, 2021. Each School Food Authority (SFA) may request a maximum total of $25,000 for up to two pieces of equipment and each piece of requested equipment must be a minimum of $1,000. The application and instructions to apply are available on the Equipment Grant Webpage. After completing PI-6201, please download and complete PI-6208 for each requested piece of equipment and email to DPIEquipGnt@dpi.wi.gov. Questions may also be directed to DPIEquipGnt@dpi.wi.gov.
 

1% Flavored Milk Guidance

On October 15, 2021, Congress extended the flexibility allowing low-fat (1%), flavored milk in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) through December 3, 2021. This flexibility has been extended through February 18, 2022. Therefore, low-fat (1%) flavored milk may be served as part of a reimbursable meal without approval through February 18, 2022.

IMPORTANT: SY2021-22 P-EBT Information from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) issued a GOVDELIVERY communication to all Authorized Representatives of the USDA School Meal Programs today, December 14, 2021 at 12:09 pm. The subject line is Critical Info About Wisconsin’s 2021-22 P-EBT Program. This communication has important information regarding the administration of the SY 2021-22 P-EBT program. If you are not the Authorized Representative, you may want to check with this person regarding program updates. DHS will continue to communicate regarding P-EBT through GOVDELIVERY.
