ESSER Equitable Services Funds Released
DPI has released the funds that had been held in reserve due to litigation over the proportional share for equitable services. Now that the litigation is resolved, amounts for equitable participation will be determined by low-income student enrollment (the “Title I formula”). DPI has updated the ESSER Funds grant application in WISEgrants and funds previously held in reserve can now be budgeted. Note that the use of low-income enrollment to determine the proportional share for equitable participation does not limit who may receive services in public and private schools.

GEER in WISEgrants October 15
The application for the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Grant will be open in WISEgrants on Thursday, October 15, 2020. DPI’s GEER Grants webpage contains a spreadsheet of the GEER allocations and other GEER-related resources for LEAs. Please review your allocations and contact geergrants@dpi.wi.gov with any questions or concerns. LEAs will need to complete several steps (outlined in the GEER Start Guide for LEAs) before accessing funds; many can be completed now, before the GEER application opens.
