ESSER III Supplemental Funds for In-Person Instruction, State Schools, CDEBs, and new Independent Charter Schools Now Available

Tuesday, August 23, 2022

Supplemental ESSER III funding has been added to the ESSER III grant allocation in WISEgrants and is now available to budget and claim.

LEAs eligible to receive additional funding for in-person hours of instruction in the 2020-21 school year now have those funds available in WISEgrants. Additionally, the schools serving students with disabilities and The Lincoln Academy can now access the supplemental ESSER III funds per Wisconsin’s ESSER III State Plan.

These supplemental ESSER III funds do not include a minimum requirement to reserve these funds for evidence-based improvement strategies (EBIS), but LEAs may choose to spend the funds on EBIS at their discretion. In order to facilitate budgeting these funds in WISEgrants, we’ve created an ESSER III Supplemental Funds in WISEgrants Guide (Google Doc) that describes how to access these funds and the associated requirements for budgeting ESSER III funds for EBIS.
