Subject – OE SPED Actual Costs - Update

When the legislature extended the deadlines for the regular application period, the deadline for 
parents to return their Intent to Attend decisions was moved to July 31st and the deadline for 
nonresident districts to enter the parent’s Intent to Attend decisions into OPAL was moved to 
August 7th. As a result of these extensions, the OPAL rollover for 2020-21 was moved to August 
10th, instead of August 1st. 

Because the OPAL rollover will now occur on August 10th, the start date for nonresident districts 
to be able to create a financial statement or enter a student’s SPED Actual Costs into OPAL will 
be moved to Monday, August 10th. 

We will send out a more detailed list serv notice in the near future reminding districts about 
SPED Actual Costs.
