Subject – Change of Resident District for OE Pupil for Moves After 3rd Friday - Reminder

There is still confusion as to when an open enrollment pupil moves to a different resident 
district and when does the resident district change.

If an open enrolled pupil moves to a different resident district after the 3rd Friday Count date, 
the pupil’s resident district will not change until the next school year.  You can make this update 
now in OPAL by entering the new resident district in the Resident District Next Year area under 
the Change Enrollment tab.  

Please do not ask DPI to make this change for you; we will only change a resident district for an 
open enrolled pupil for this current school year if the pupil moved on or before the 3rd Friday 
Count date.

This reminder has also been added to our Announcements section in OPAL.
