From: DPI Open Enrollment Sent: Friday, September 10, 2021 8:28 AM To: Demrow, Jennifer DPI Subject: Important Changes to Open Enrollment - Elimination of July Aid Adjustments To – District Administrators and Open Enrollment Coordinators From – Jen Demrow, Open Enrollment Consultant Subject – Important Changes to Open Enrollment – Elimination of July Aid Adjustments With the passage of the 2021-23 Biennial Budget (2021 Act 58), the delayed general aid payment, otherwise known as July Aid Adjustments, was eliminated. The existence of the delayed general aid payment allowed districts to make changes to open enrollment aid payment data until mid-June. However, with this elimination, districts will need to submit ALL changes by mid-May. This means that it is crucial that districts verify their open enrollment information in OPAL throughout the school year as this date will be the last opportunity to make any edits or changes to open enrollment data for the 2021-22 school year. There will be no exceptions to the May deadline. Below are the May deadline dates for any open enrollment aid data changes for the 2021-22 school year: * May 2, 2022 last day for districts to make open enrollment data changes themselves in OPAL; if districts still have changes after this date, the nonresident district must send an email to DPI requesting the change * May 13, 2022 last day for nonresident districts to submit open enrollment data changes to DPI We will be sending out reminders about this change several times throughout the school year.
