Private School Choice Programs: Required Training for New Schools

Fiscal Management In Person Training

Training
 

This training will be an in-person training and will describe, in detail, the fiscal requirements of the program.

Where: The training will take place at the Department of Public Instruction at 125 S Webster St, Madison, WI. Driving directions and parking information are available on the webpage.

Who should attend: The Choice administrator must complete the in-person fiscal management training in order for the school to participate in the Choice program. Additionally, the individual responsible for the school’s accounting or bookkeeping is strongly encouraged to attend. It is strongly advised that new schools have more than one representative who qualifies to serve as the school’s Choice administrator complete the training. Due to space limitations, no more than 3 individuals may attend per school and individuals can only attend the training once. 

What to Bring: All schools must email a completed W-9 to dpichoiceauditreports@dpi.wi.gov in advance of their training date and bring a completed W-9 form for the school to the training. To obtain IRS Form W-9 go to: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf.

When: The training will be from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on the following dates. Click on the date that you would like to register for the training. Space is limited for the training, so please sign up early.

Who should attend the training?

Information
  • It is strongly advised that new schools have more than one representative who qualifies to serve as the school’s Choice administrator complete the training. (Note: the Choice administrator must meet the educational credential requirement as described in the Staff Credentials Bulletin on the Bulletins webpage.)
  • New schools are not permitted to change who will serve as the Choice administrator prior to August 1, 2020 unless the individual has completed the fiscal management training. Please be aware that the in-person portion of the fiscal management training will not be offered after March 2020.
