Presented by Lynne Stover, James Madison University. Black History Month: Using Historical Fiction to Teach Economics. The historical settings of the chapter books “Bud, Not Buddy”, “The Mighty Miss Malone”,and “Kizzy Ann Stamps” are prefect for introducing upper elementary and middle school students to economic concepts such as scarcity, decision making, and opportunity cost.
