Teaching Current Issues in an Age of Misleading Media: Bias, Sourcing, and the Fake News Epidemic is a workshop that WI DPI Social Studies consultant Kris McDaniel will facilitate. Discussions will be about sourcing and bias in mass media, resources on sourcing, how people make “fake news” and how to spot it, and we'll open a general conversation about how to connect social studies instruction to the new Information and Technology Literacy standards. There will be time to analyze ready-made resources for your classroom, as well as to brainstorm your own lesson plans.

This is open to K-12 teachers, Media Literacy specialists, and anyone interested in learning together about media bias in the classroom.
