Two DPI Staff Named Mental Health Literacy Collaborative’s May Mental Health Literacy Champions

Thursday, May 23, 2024

Please join us in congratulating Liz Krubsack, LPC, and Jess Frain, MSW, school mental health consultants from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, for being recognized as May’s Mental Health Literacy Collaborative’s (MHLC) Mental Health Literacy champions! The MHLC recognizes MHL Champions each month for advancing mental health literacy through contributions in education, research, policy, and/or advocacy.

Liz Krubsack, LPC, and Jess Frain, MSW, have led efforts to bring mental health literacy (MHL) to school communities across the state of Wisconsin. They have identified increasing mental health literacy as a key strategy for building commitment to systems change work in Wisconsin school mental health. They provide MHL resources to school districts for students, staff, and families, and they are partnering with a state university team to design tools to enhance professional development opportunities around MHL. The MHLC commends Liz and Jess for their innovation, collaboration, and dedication to bringing MHL to their community!

DPI celebrates this wonderful acknowledgment. Congratulations, Liz and Jess!
