Assessment Literacy Module
In this module, you will learn about the interconnectivity and use of local and state assessments to inform teachers practices as well as how to better involve students in their own learning and assessment processes.
Units can be taken individually, or as a collective learning module. Learn about the Strategic Assessment Systems or Data Literacy modules.
Unit 1: Introduction to Assessment Literacy
Description: Learn about assessment literacy including its definition and attributes.

Unit 2: Know Why and What You are Assessing
Description: Discover and explore the integral part that assessment plays in student achievement. You will be able to determine the why and what you are assessing in your classroom or setting.

Unit 3: How can I Assess Student Learning?
Description: Learn why multiple assessment approaches are crucial for providing equitable opportunities in the classroom while increasing the depth of understanding of student abilities.

Unit 4: Analyzing Standards and Instructional Planning
Description: Discover the process of analyzing and clustering standards and learn how the standards inform instructional planning, the assessment process and specific learning targets.

Unit 5: Create and Communicate Learning Targets in Student Friendly Language

Description: Learn about three different ways to eliminate barriers in assessment. Culturally responsive practices, accommodations and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) are the approaches discussed in this module.
