Here are a few free live and recorded webinars you might enjoy this month as 2022 wraps up. Please check the NEWI list of free webinars to find online continuing education opportunities you may attend from where you are. Most sessions are 60 minutes long and are provided – at no charge to you – by associations, agencies, companies, and library systems. DPI distributes $15M to Public Libraries
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction announced today the disbursement of $15 million to public library systems throughout the state. The DPI’s Division for Libraries and Technology administers the distribution of State Aid to Public Library Systems according to Wisconsin State Statute.
BadgerLink Advisory Group: Call for Applicants
The BadgerLink team seeks applicants to participate in the BadgerLink Advisory Group. This group seeks to improve the ability of all Wisconsin residents to access and effectively use high-quality, licensed resources provided by BadgerLink, expand program visibility, and build stronger relationships between the program and stakeholders.

Statewide Database Inventory & Needs Assessment Study Final Report Released
As a direct response to library community conversations on potential uses for the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) grant program, the DPI Library Services Team contracted with the library consulting firm CDygert Solutions to complete a Wisconsin Statewide Electronic Resource Database Inventory & Needs Assessment Study.
The study’s goals were to:

Address the lack of consistent and comprehensive data about existing databases offered by public and K-12 public school libraries.

2023-2027 LSTA Plan Now Available
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) announced today the release of the 2023-2027 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Five-Year Plan. Visit the DPI’s website for the full plan document as well as a two-page infographic of the plan.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Library Services Team will be joining colleagues across the state for the Wisconsin Library Association Annual Conference 2022, November 1-4, 2022.
