Wisconsin Humanities Council CARES Relief Grants Awarded to Wisconsin Libraries - Second Round

Friday, September 18, 2020

Wisconsin Humanities Council logoAs we noted in the previous post, Wisconsin Humanities CARES Relief Grant Opportunity Second Round and Wisconsin Libraries Awarded Grant Funding, several Wisconsin Public Libraries, friends groups, and other non-profit entities received rapid-response grant funding from the Wisconsin Humanities Council (WHC) for general operating expenses.

Last month, the Wisconsin Humanities Council added approximately 32 new organizations – including 19 libraries – and $248,000 to the amount awarded for a grand total of $548,000 awarded to 82 non-profit organizations – 30 of which are public libraries and friends groups – throughout Wisconsin. We are grateful for the Wisconsin Humanities Council's ongoing support of the cultural mission of Wisconsin public libraries, and the effort that both the WHC and applicant libraries put forth to secure this necessary funding to help address the financial hardship resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following libraries received a CARES Act grant award from the WHC in the second round of CARES Act funding awarded last month:

  • Algoma Public Library
  • Alma Public Library
  • Bayfield Carnegie Public Library
  • Bekkum Memorial Public Library
  • Bloomington Public Library
  • Brandon Public Library
  • Campbellsport Public Library
  • Cobb Public Library
  • Coloma Public Library
  • De Soto Public Library
  • Hancock Public Library
  • Johnson Creek Public Library
  • Markesan Public Library
  • Mineral Point Public Library
  • Poy Sippi Public Library
  • Princeton Public Library
  • Spring Green Community Library
  • Winneconne Public Library

We encourage libraries and friends organizations to follow the Wisconsin Humanities Council and the upcoming grant opportunities by subscribing to WHC's Great News newsletter. More information about the Wisconsin Humanities Council and their mission to support educational and cultural programs in our state is available on the WHC website.

Congratulations to those libraries who are receiving financial support from the WHC.
