Wisconsin Libraries Transforming Communities Resources Available for All

Thursday, June 25, 2020

The Wisconsin Libraries Transforming Communities program is well underway. The cohort of 37 outward-facing folks from across the state has been learning ways to connect with their communities to assess aspirations and challenges. You can see who’s involved on the WLTC Participants 2020-21 webpage.

Though much of what they’re learning from the fantastic library consultants of Thriving Libraries is done in small groups and on virtual connections, some of it has been recorded and is available to everyone who is interested in working more closely with the communities they serve. To date, three webinars, and the resources that go with them, are widely available. On the Webinars and Resources webpage you’ll find these topics just waiting for you to dive in:

Stillness in an Emergency with Beck Tench: DPI’s Division for Libraries and Technology is proud to bring Beck Tench to Wisconsin for a one-hour webinar on how to take care of ourselves in this time of COVID-19. Recorded May 5, 2020

It Takes a Village: Partnerships and Collaboration with Thriving Libraries: Learn how to identify, approach, and structure partnerships to benefit all while being an authentic, accountable partner who is able to set healthy boundaries. Recorded May 8, 2020

Conversation with Your Community with Thriving Libraries and Brandon Morris: How do we know what matters to our community? The simple answer is, by asking questions. Find out what to ask and how to get people to participate in virtual community conversations during a pandemic with Amber Williams (Thriving Libraries) and Brandon Morris (Building Our Future, Kenosha WI). Recorded June 5, 2020

Every couple of months a new webinar will be added to the line-up. More to come!
