Purpose of the Achievement Gap Dashboard
Use the Achievement Gap Dashboard to find gaps in performance between a target group (generally a minority group) and a comparison group (generally a majority group) at school, district, and state levels. Groups include race/ethnicity, gender, economic status, disability status, and English proficiency. Graphs include the Forward Exam, ACT statewide assessments and attendance rates. There are two dashboards:
- The Single Year Dashboard displays gaps for all applicable student groups for a single year.
- The Achievement Gap Trends Dashboard displays gaps over time for a single target and comparison group.

NOTE: Only WISEdash users with specific roles have access to student level detail.
- From the WISEhome and WISEsecure Login Information page, log in to WISEhome.
- Open WISEdash for Districts.
- Click Dashboards.
- Click Advanced Analysis.
- Under the Achievement Gap header, select Achievement Gap to see data from a single year, or select Achievement Gap Trends to see data over time.
- To switch between achievement gap dashboards, notice that this only requires one click once you have opened one of them. The other dashboard and the dashboard documentation ("How to use Achievement Gap Dashboards") appear in the toolbar just above the title of the dashboard you are currently using.
Filter the data
- In the dashboard, there may be a message underneath the filters that says "You must select values from the following filters before the dashboard can be displayed."
- If you have not yet selected a District or a Grade in your current WISEdash for Districts session, then you have a message instructing you to select from that filter.
- In each dashboard, notice which filters are preselected. Click Filter Data to change the value of each of these filters as needed. Preselected filters include:
- School Year: [current school year]
- Comparison Race/Ethnicity: White
- Subject: English Language Arts (ELA)
- Small Groups: Hide (recommended)
- Target Group: Students with Disabilities (SwD)
- Comparison Group: Students without Disabilities (SwoD)
