PBS Wisconsin Education recently released The Look Back, an all-new series developed for 4th through 6th grade learners that explores Wisconsin historical eras through interesting artifacts and their unique context.

The collection features 11 short episodes hosted by five Wisconsin historians. They model historical inquiry as they share artifacts, ask questions, visit archives and museums, share their findings, and make connections to life today. Each episode includes discussion questions, historian bios, and additional educator resources.

The hosts learn about a wrought iron toaster from the fur trade era, amateur newspapers written by young people during the progressive era, a handmade bowling shirt from the Vietnam era, and more.
