Wisconsin Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)

LSTA Grants to States Program

The Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States program is the largest source of federal funding support for library services in the U.S. As the designated State Library Administrative Agency (SLAA) for Wisconsin, the Division for Libraries and Technology implements the program on behalf of the state's public libraries. LSTA is administered at the federal level by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The grants support the purposes and priorities outlined in the LSTA and may be used for statewide initiatives and services or distributed through competitive subawards or cooperative agreements with public, academic, research, school, or special libraries or consortia.

Plan and Evaluation

The Library Services and Technology Act requires each SLAA to submit a plan that details library services goals for a five-year period, as well as conduct a five-year evaluation of library services based on that plan.
