Dear District Administrators,
We are excited to let you know that Alliant Energy, the Green Bay Packers, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Public Instruction have teamed up to provide every learner in Wisconsin with a National Child Identification Kit. The kit is a gift of safety that is hopefully never needed. But in the event of a missing child, the kit helps to provide law enforcement with vital information.
The kits are confidential and are designed to be completed and stored securely at a private residence. The information is only turned over to law enforcement in the event of an emergency.
These kits will be arriving prior to the end of the school year, and we are encouraging districts to find ways to distribute them to parents and caregivers as soon as practicable.
