Grades and Graduation

Grades icon

Just as instruction may differ from one school community to another, so does grading. Each school district determines how student learning is graded. The DPI encourages you to reach out to your school community to work with them if the grading expectations are not meeting your child’s needs.

The decision to provide grades or report cards during the remote learning period remains local. You may see grades reported as they have been, or you may see grades reported as Pass / Fail or Complete / Incomplete.

Each school district determines how it will promote learners to the next grade. If the class promotion expectations are not meeting your child's needs, please reach out to your school community.

As schools consider activities such as graduation, they should review graduation guidance released by the Department of Health Services and consult with local health authorities as to how to hold a safe alternative graduation activity on or off school grounds.
