New Procedure Exceeding 1% Participation Threshold on Alternate Assessment

Thursday, January 27, 2022

Dear District Administrators,

LEAs who exceeded the one percent participation threshold in any subject during the Spring 2021 assessment window received individualized correspondence from DPI informing them of the required next steps. For additional information regarding alternate assessment participation rates, please Iris Jacobson (iris.jacobson@dpi.wi.gov or 608-264-9557).

Today, districts will receive an email regarding notification of exceeding the one percent participation threshold in one or more given subjects on the alternate assessment, Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM), for the 2020-21 academic year. Districts will now find the one percent Participation Threshold Data on WISEgrants. Districts will no longer receive printed copies of notifications containing their data. All districts should view their data in WISEgrants. Accessing the Alternate Assessment Participation Rates in WISEgrants provides step-by-step instructions for viewing a district’s alternate assessment participation rates.

If you need assistance finding the information in WISEgrants, please send an email request to ideafiscal@dpi.wi.gov. If you have questions or need additional information on the email content or data, please contact Iris Jacobson at iris.jacobson@wi.dpi.gov or call (608) 264-9557.

 Sincerely,

John W. Johnson, PhD
Deputy State Superintendent
