Building access
Please schedule an appointment to meet with DPI staff, prior to coming to the Tommy G. Thompson Center in Madison. Any unscheduled walk-ins to the Tommy G. Thompson Center will be greeted at the street level and asked to schedule a future appointment.
Enter the lobby of the building at the West Washington Avenue entrance. Check in with the security guard and wait for the DPI staff you are visiting.
From Chicago:
From I-90, exit onto State Highway 12/18 West. Proceed approximately five miles to the John Nolen Drive exit. Continue on John Nolen Dr. Drive and Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto S Broom St followed by a right onto W Washington Ave a few blocks later. As you near the top of the hill, The Tommy G. Thompson Cetner will be on the right side at the intersection of S Fairchild St and W Washington Ave.

From the East (Milwaukee) or from the North (Minnesota)
Take I-90 or I-94 to Highway 12/18 west (the Madison Beltline). From Highway 12/18, take John Nolen Drive exit. Continue on John Nolen Dr. Drive and Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto S Broom St followed by a right onto W Washington Ave a few blocks later. As you near the top of the hill, The Tommy G. Thompson Cetner will be on the right side at the intersection of S Fairchild St and W Washington Ave.

From the West and South (Middleton, Verona, or Oregon):
