Event Description

Citizens, parents, educators, and other school personnel are invited to submit comments or attend one of two public hearings on newly drafted Wisconsin standards for dance and world languages.

The State Superintendent’s Dance and World Languages Writing Committees, two panels of Wisconsin experts representing classroom educators, school leaders, and higher education, with input from business owners and groups, created the draft standards.

Those intending to testify at the hearing will be required to present photo identification at the security desk near the Webster Street public entrance. Those who need to use the building’s handicapped accessible entrance on Butler Street should press a doorbell for admittance and check in with security. In addition to testimony at the hearings comments will be collected over a 30-day period, starting on Jan. 28, 2019, through the department’s Academic Standards website and will be given the same consideration as comments presented at the hearings.
