Council Purpose

The State Superintendent’s Advisory Council on Deaf and Hard of Hearing Issues will meet on Monday, April 22, 2024, to continue discussion and work on issues related to Wisconsin’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) students.

Agenda

  • Welcome and Introductions
  • Review agenda, previous meeting minutes, and action items
  • Reports from the Department of Public Instruction Special Education and the Wisconsin Education Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Discussion Items:
    • Educational Interpreter and DHH Teacher Shortages
    • Birth-to-Three Programs
    • Cultural Responsiveness to Deaf Culture and minorities within Deaf Culture
    • Language Development in DHH students
    • Membership Nominations
    • Annual Report
  • Agenda review for the October meeting
  • Review of action items
