Reminder - Class of 2019 Verifications - CTE Incentive Grants Last Chance Review Check

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Dear District Administrators,

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) incentive grant applications for graduates of the class of 2019 have been verified by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). The $3.5 million appropriation incentivizes school districts to support CTE programming which results in an industry-recognized credential (IRC) designed to mitigate workforce shortages.

In order to ensure that an error has not occurred in the verification process, please review your district’s Final Verification Report in the CTE Incentive Grant APP for claims disqualified “NO” under “Approved for Pay.”

  • Login into WAMS at https://ctetig.dpi.wi.gov/CTETIG/Student/StudentRoster
  • Open the Final Verification Report and review the Approved for Pay column
  • Not Approved for Pay Reasons are indicated:
    • (Did Not Graduate or Not Found) The student did not graduate by 8/31/2019,
    • (Multiple Certifications) The student earned multiple certifications; therefore, they will only be counted once for funding,
    • (Program Not Completed) Verification checks revealed that the student did not actually earn/pass/complete the approved certificate by 8/31/2019,
    • (Ineligible Claim) District participate in the Microsoft Imagine Academy in 2018-19 and is not eligible for CTE Incentive Grant funds,
    • (Ineligible Claims) Program Claim submitted included a certification not on the Approved 2019 Certifications List,
    • (Ineligible Claim or Program not Completed) Incorrect or missing required documentation, and
    • (Ineligible Claim or Program not Completed) Technical College dual credit classes were submitted as State Approved Technical Diplomas.

There is no need to respond if the verifications are accurate. However, if you discover any discrepancies, please contact Robin.Kroyer-Kubicek@dpi.wi.gov 608-266-2022.

All corrections are due by Thursday, April 30, 2020.
