Thursday, July 6, 2023

Library Building and Spaces LogoA new Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funded resource launches this month for public library directors, staff, and trustees titled Wisconsin Library Buildings & Spaces. You will find 12 on-demand webinars, plus resources about renovation, space reconfiguration, new building projects, and more.

After viewing the webinars, sign up for four LIVE Q&A sessions beginning the week of July 24th. You may submit questions in advance or during the session. Registration is required; sessions will not be recorded. Topics covered include:

  • Accessibility
  • Facility assessment survey results
  • Building maintenance
  • Capital costs planning

The goal of the project is to provide online learning opportunities about different aspects of public library buildings and spaces and to create a free, online one-stop location to find resources on these topics.

This project was possible thanks to a team of library system consultants from across Wisconsin: Laurie Freund (Bridges Library System), Shauna Koszegi (Southwest Wisconsin Library System), John Thompson (IFLS Library System), and Deb Haeffner (South Central Library System).

Funding was provided from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Sponsors include the Wisconsin Public Library Systems and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
