Event Description

 

This hearing is to accept public testimony on proposed permanent rule Clearinghouse Rule 24-026, relating to rules governing the commencement of the school term prior to September 1. The proposed rule seeks to update ch. PI 27 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code with respect to extraordinary reasons under which school boards may request the department’s approval to allow a school term to commence prior to September 1.

The Department will hold the public hearing by teleconference only. Written comments received no later than the date of the hearing will be given the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearing.

A copy of the proposed rule is available on the department's Administrative Rules webpage or the Wisconsin Legislature Rules site. Written comments on the proposed permanent rule may be made via the Legislature’s form for submitting public comment. Questions or additional testimony on the rules may be sent by email to the department’s administrative rules coordinator.
